A Double Celebration for the Woolley Sisters

A day after Dee learned her cancer was in remission, Mel got the call confirming her win. The sisters, both from Thringstone, Leicestershire, decided to celebrate with a festive trip to New York this December.

“I’m taking my sister to New York in December. We have the first week of December off and going there has been on the bucket list. We’ll go first class and turn left on the plane,” said Mel.

“I want to see the Rockefeller Plaza Christmas tree after watching Home Alone,” added Dee.

A Street Full of Winners

Mel and nine neighbours each won £83,333 after postcode LE67 8NW landed the top prize. One lucky participant, holding three tickets, walked away with £249,999.

A Year That Ended with Joy

After a challenging year, Mel said the timing of the win was a gift for the whole family. The shared happiness came from both the lottery success and Dee’s recovery.

“It’s just something you don’t think about and hope will happen one day. I didn’t expect it to be this much. It’s amazing, I’m over the moon,” Mel said. “We’ve been buzzing this week.”
