Paden Ferguson and his partner managed to buy the only two viral Bearista cups available at their local Starbucks. Many customers were disappointed by the very limited stock of these cups.
In October, Starbucks announced new holiday drinks and desserts, including a special holiday bear cup featuring a green beanie hat and straw. This cup quickly gained popularity online, creating a buzz before its launch on November 6th.
For a month, Paden and his partner planned to buy the bear cup on launch day, initially believing it would be easy to get one by just walking into the store at noon. However, as the release approached, they realized many others had the same idea due to the cup going viral on social media.
On the evening before the release, November 5th, they checked several local Starbucks stores to gauge how many bear cups would be available. At the busiest location, a barista revealed they had only seven cups in stock.
"In October, I saw online that Starbucks was launching its new holiday drinks and desserts, alongside a little holiday bear cup featuring a green beanie hat and straw."
"We asked the barista how many they had — seven, they said."
Limited stock and high demand made the viral Starbucks bear cups a tough find, prompting customers to plan ahead for a rare launch day purchase.
