Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett from Texas is reportedly weighing a run for Senator John Cornyn’s seat in the U.S. Senate, according to information shared with FOX 4 News in Dallas.
Statewide polls indicate that Crockett currently holds an early advantage among Democratic contenders, leading ahead of former Representative James Talirico and other potential rivals. On the Republican side, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton appears to have a narrow polling edge over incumbent Senator John Cornyn in the upcoming primary race.
During a mid-October interview on FOX News, Crockett said she would make her final decision after court rulings regarding new congressional district maps and further polling analysis.
“I’m still waiting for a final ruling on the new Texas Congressional District maps,” Crockett stated, noting that her representation could shift depending on the outcome.
The recent redrawing of congressional boundaries aimed to add five new Republican-held seats in the U.S. House. If upheld, the adjustment would alter Crockett’s current district and potentially affect her future political plans.
