9News Melbourne will say goodbye to one of its most beloved faces this November as weather presenter Livinia Nixon prepares to sign off on November 18. Nixon, 50, first joined the network in 1997 and has been the face of 9News Melbourne's weather since 2004.
On Friday, Livinia announced her decision to step down from the role after two decades. She shared that her priority is to focus on her family as her sons enter their senior school years.
"After 20 years presenting weather on 9News, I've decided to step back from this role," she said. "My sons will both be in high school and I want to be there to support them. It's been a privilege to be welcomed into viewers' homes for so long, but this is the right time for my family."
Livinia emphasized how deeply the role has influenced her life and profession, expressing gratitude while explaining her choice to leave.
"Presenting the weather has shaped my life and career. I owe this role everything but this is the right decision for me," she added. "When I discussed it with our boys, they said, 'We're pretty excited to spend more time with you, Mum.'"
This marks the end of an era for 9News Melbourne but signals a new chapter for Livinia both professionally and personally.
