"Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things," Matt and Ross Duffer wrote in an open letter to fans, per the Hollywood Reporter. "At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four, but - as you’ll see for yourselves - we are now hurtling toward our finale."

Season 5 Premiere Date and Structure

The fifth season of Stranger Things will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, 27th November 2025.
The season will be split into three parts:

The first four episodes will release in November.
The next three episodes will drop on 26th December.
The final episode will be available on 1st January.

It’s bittersweet but probably the best timing, as the young cast has grown considerably. Fans are eager to see what’s next for both the actors and the Duffer Brothers—possibly even a Stranger Things spin-off, which Variety suggests could be in development.
