Steve Witkoff, U.S. envoy, announced at the America Business Forum in Miami that Hamas is prepared to hand over its weapons to an international security force in the Gaza Strip.
Witkoff stated that Washington is urging Israel to permit Hamas militants, currently besieged in Rafah in southern Gaza, to leave the area safely.
"Hamas has always made it clear that it is ready to hand over its weapons," even to Jared Kushner, advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump.
The envoy expressed hope that Hamas will follow through with disarmament, highlighting a comprehensive development plan for Gaza that surpasses previous proposals.
"If it does, it will realize that the development plan we have for Gaza is truly extraordinary, much better than what was proposed in the past."
This plan notably includes a large-scale job creation program aimed at improving the region's economy.
