The New Jersey Devils (9-3-1) host the Montreal Canadiens at Prudential Center to start a three-game homestand. The winner will be the first team in the league to reach 10 wins this season.
Newark, NJ – The Devils took to the ice for their morning skate before Thursday night’s game against Montreal. Center Cody Glass participated fully in line rushes and is set to return after missing seven games due to an upper-body injury.
"It was a weird injury to have, it popped out of nowhere," Glass said. "I'm happy to be back with the guys."
Glass confirmed he is fully healthy and ready to play without limitations. "I'm just trying to jump right into it, get hit, see how it goes. It's hockey."
Forward Connor Brown, who missed the last two games but practiced yesterday, was not on the ice for the morning skate.
With Glass returning, the Devils can restore the lines from their eight-game winning streak. Glass resumes his role as third center, allowing Mercer to move to the wing alongside Nico Hischier and Timo Meier. This adjustment also reduces some defensive pressure on rookie Arseny Gritsyuk, who shifts to the third line.
Author’s summary: Cody Glass returns to the Devils’ lineup as New Jersey aims for their tenth win while recalibrating lines to sustain their winning form.
