Antonio Brown, former NFL wide receiver, is facing serious legal issues after his arrest in Dubai. He will be extradited to Florida in connection with an attempted homicide charge linked to an incident in Miami in May 2025.
The 36-year-old, who last appeared with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021, was involved in a confrontation during an influencer boxing event organized by streamer Adin Ross. After the event, Brown allegedly took a handgun from a security guard and fired twice at a man he had previously battled with.
The victim, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, reported that one of the bullets grazed his neck but did not cause a fatal injury.
Following his arrest, Brown was flown back to the United States and is currently held in Essex County, New Jersey. Authorities are determining his transfer to Miami for trial, where the incident occurred.
Miami Police spokesperson Mike Vega stated:
“Brown was arrested on a charge of second-degree attempted homicide stemming from the shooting after the celebrity boxing event.”
Brown asserts he was the victim in the situation, claiming he was attacked and threatened with death, which led him to act in self-defense.
Antonio Brown faces up to 15 years in prison after a Miami shooting incident during a boxing event, while he maintains his actions were in self-defense.
