General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc (GA-ASI) announced on 4 November 2025 the addition of the Gambit 6 to its Gambit series of unmanned combat air vehicles (UCAVs). This new collaborative combat aircraft (CCA) brings air-to-ground operational capability to complement its established air-to-air functions.
The Gambit 6 is designed for a variety of roles, including electronic warfare, suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD), and precision deep strike missions. Its versatility aims to address evolving threats in contested environments.
“Air forces throughout the world are looking to air-to-ground-capable CCAs to enhance operational capabilities and address emerging threats in a denied environment,” GA-ASI stated.
David R. Alexander, GA-ASI President, highlighted the Gambit 6’s modular architecture and signature-reducing internal weapons bay. These features facilitate seamless integration of advanced autonomy, sensors, and weapons systems, allowing adaptation across diverse operational scenarios.
GA-ASI’s Gambit 6 extends its UCAV lineup by adding air-to-ground capabilities, offering a versatile and modular platform aimed at meeting evolving global defense needs by 2027 and beyond.
