North American esports organisation Sentinels announced it is pausing its Marvel Rivals operations indefinitely after missing qualification for the Ignite Grand Finals at DreamHack Atlanta.
“Today we are announcing that we will be pausing our operations in Marvel Rivals. We couldn’t be prouder of what we accomplished in the last year. Together, we built something special, leaving our mark on the early history of the game. If and when NetEase roll out a program with team incentives, we would revisit the decision.”
The organisation has parted ways with its Marvel Rivals roster, resulting in players seeking new opportunities within the competitive scene.
“My heart breaks with Sentinel’s decision to leave Marvel Rivals Esports,” said Chassidy ‘aramori’ Kaye, former strategist for Sentinels. “But truthfully, I can’t blame them. The scene is essentially a money sink until any sort of monetary incentive is added for teams. Hopefully, NetEase will drop some new info soon.”
Since their debut earlier in 2025, Sentinels quickly became one of the most recognised organisations in Marvel Rivals esports, experiencing a range of victories and defeats throughout the year.
Summary: Sentinels is pausing its Marvel Rivals operations after a challenging year, awaiting potential team incentives from NetEase before reconsidering involvement.
