Starting November 20, 2025, China will implement an online arrival card system, allowing foreign visitors to submit their entry information in advance. This move aligns with China’s recent extension of its unilateral visa-free policy for 45 countries by one year and demonstrates the country’s ongoing efforts to ease travel and enhance border control efficiency.
This initiative places China among several Asian countries that have modernized their entry procedures. India, Indonesia, and South Korea have recently adopted similar digital arrival card systems.
The NIA has stated that "seven categories of foreign nationals will be exempt from completing the ‘Arrival Card.’"
China's introduction of a digital arrival card enhances border processing efficiency and traveler convenience, reflecting a broader regional shift toward digital immigration procedures.
