Timothée Chalamet disappointed not to win Oscar

Timothée Chalamet has openly shared his disappointment about not winning the Best Actor Oscar this year. The 29-year-old actor was nominated for portraying Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown but ultimately lost the award to Adrien Brody for his performance in The Brutalist.

Chalamet, who previously received an Oscar nomination in 2017 for Call Me By Your Name, spoke candidly about his reaction to the loss during an interview with Vogue.

“If there’s five people at an awards show, and four people go home losing, you don’t think those four people are at the restaurant like, ‘Damn, we didn’t win’?”

“I’ve been around some deeply generous, no-ego actors, and maybe some of them are going, ‘That was fun.’ But I know for a fact a lot of them are going, ‘F***.’ People can call me a try-hard, and they can say whatever they want. But I’m the one actually doing it here.”

Despite not taking home the Academy Award, Chalamet did win the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award for Best Leading Actor for the same role. In his acceptance speech, he expressed deep gratitude and reflected on his commitment to the character.

“I know the classiest thing would be to downplay the effort that went into this role and how much it means to me, but the truth is, this was five-and-a-half years of my life. I poured everything I had into playing this incomparable artist, Mr. Dylan.”
