Mail Service to Canada to Resume Next Week

Mail shipments to Canada will resume next week despite the ongoing rolling strike at Canada Post. A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Post Office (BPO) confirmed the service will restart on Monday.

However, delays in delivery may still occur due to continued disruptions caused by the strike.

“The BPO appreciates the public’s patience and co-operation during this time.”

Background of the Suspension

Mail delivery from Bermuda to Canada was halted in late September as a result of a nationwide strike at Canada Post.

Last month, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers shifted from a full national strike to a rotating strike, enabling mail services to gradually resume.

Local Post Office Closure Announcement

The Bermuda Post Office also shared that all local branches will close at noon tomorrow to hold a staff event.

“The BPO apologises for any inconvenience this early closure may cause.”
