Australian football star Brendan Fevola shared that he and his family experienced a strange home intrusion over the weekend, leaving him fearing they were about to be robbed.
The father of four had been preparing to take his youngest daughter, Tobi, roller-skating when the incident occurred. As they were leaving the house, he turned around and was shocked to find an elderly woman with her dog standing in his hallway.
“Oh my god, I’ve had an intruder,” Fevola said during the Fifi, Fev and Nick radio show.
He described his confusion as the unexpected visitors simply walked into his home without explanation.
“I turn around and see this old lady with a dog walking into our house, and I go: ‘Hello?’”
Initially, Fevola feared it might be part of a setup, suspecting that the incident could have been a way to scout his property for a robbery, especially during the Halloween weekend.
“I was like: ‘Is this person scoping my house out? Get old people to come into the house, see what you’ve got, and later you get robbed.’ I was like: ‘Is this a set-up?’”
Although the situation turned out to be harmless, Fevola admitted the encounter rattled him. The uninvited entry by a stranger and her dog left the former Carlton and Brisbane player questioning how such a confusion even happened.
