A viral video recorded by passenger Lakshay Arora during his flight from Vienna to Delhi shows a striking difference in air quality between the two cities. The footage contrasts Vienna’s clear blue skies with Delhi’s heavy smog.
The video starts with panoramic views of Vienna’s pristine skyline, featuring crisp blue skies, winding rivers, and distant snow-capped mountains. As the flight crosses into Delhi’s airspace, visibility sharply declines, replaced by dense, grey smog that obscures the ground.
“What my phone captured when I was travelling in plane from Vienna, Austria, to Delhi, India felt like travelling from 8K resolution to blurred 90s camera quality due to high pollution,” Arora wrote.
The video quickly sparked discussions online about Delhi’s worsening air pollution. Users expressed frustration and worry over the city's air quality.
