Colorado State football could not recover from a difficult season despite the bye week, falling 42–10 at home against UNLV on Saturday. Injuries and significant roster changes have left the Rams struggling to find consistency and momentum.
The Rebels’ explosive offense proved too much for CSU throughout the game. Their speed and power turned nearly every play into a scoring opportunity, while the Rams’ defense struggled to contain the big plays.
Thomas’ 59- and 57-yard runs highlighted the pace difference between the teams, as the Rebels’ offense consistently broke through CSU’s defense.
At the end of the first quarter, the Rams held an advantage in total yards and turnovers. Their opening drive stretched 75 yards across 13 plays in nearly six minutes, resulting in their only touchdown. However, momentum quickly shifted as UNLV took control for the remainder of the game.
“Every snap felt like a home run waiting to happen.”
Despite showing some progress since their 28–0 Border War loss, CSU’s uneven performance left little hope for a bowl game appearance as the season winds down.
Author’s summary: CSU showed early promise but couldn’t keep pace with UNLV’s quick, high-impact offense, ending in a lopsided 42–10 home defeat.
