The Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers, two of the NBA’s fastest teams, turned Saturday night’s matchup at Kaseya Center into a relentless sprint. Despite missing stars Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro, the Heat managed to secure a 136–131 win that pushed their record to 6–4.
It was a game defined by alternating runs, with the Heat edging ahead thanks to strong late-game performances from Jaime Jaquez Jr., Norman Powell, and Andrew Wiggins. Each contributed crucial points down the stretch to seal the victory.
“Obviously our guys are getting pretty comfortable with it,” said coach Erik Spoelstra. “I’m not putting the brakes on anybody who is trying to attack.”
“It’s an offense where it can be anybody’s night,” Jaquez said. “Tonight, it was Niko.”
Jovic praised the team’s fast-paced style, noting how it maximizes everyone’s potential on the court.
“You can see the way it makes everybody look better,” he noted.
The Heat thrived through speed and adaptability, overcoming injuries to deliver an inspired 136–131 win behind a breakout performance from Nikola Jovic.
