Two Drown in Dandenong Creek
This afternoon, a woman and a child drowned after falling into Dandenong Creek near Allan Street, Dandenong.
A witness reported that both were swept away around 3:45 pm. It is believed the woman entered the water to help the child and encountered trouble herself.
Police searched the area, found the unconscious pair, pulled them from the creek, and began CPR. Despite emergency services’ efforts, both were declared deceased at the scene.
The identities of the woman and child have not yet been confirmed. Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
