The Belleville Senators concluded their three-game weekend hosting the Laval Rocket, suffering a 3-2 defeat despite Hunter Shepard's impressive 43-save effort.
Laval dominated early with 23 shots on net. Their pressure paid off when Nate Clurman assisted Alex Belzile, whose deflected shot reached Filip Mesar, scoring his second goal of the season and giving Laval a 1-0 lead.
The Senators quickly responded just as their power play ended. Jake Chiasson's patient play created space, enabling Lassi Thomson to launch a one-timer past Rocket goaltender Kaapo Kähkönen, tying the game 1-1.
