North Lincolnshire Unites to Honour Armed Forces
North Lincolnshire will pay tribute to the service and sacrifice of the armed forces on Remembrance Sunday with a parade and remembrance service in Scunthorpe on Sunday, 9 November.
Parade Details
- The parade will gather outside The Baths Hall from 10:10 AM and start processing at 10:25 AM.
- Participants can meet for tea and coffee inside the venue from 9:30 AM or join the parade gathering outside from 10:00 AM.
- The procession will include serving personnel, veterans, military organisations, and uniformed groups.
- The route will follow Doncaster Road to the Cenotaph outside the North Lincolnshire Museum.
Remembrance Service
The service begins at 10:45 AM with an Act of Remembrance, including a two-minute silence at 11:00 AM, followed by wreath-laying.
Afterwards, the parade will return to The Baths Hall via Vicarage Gardens.
Post-Service Gathering
Following the service, The Baths Hall will host refreshments, allowing attendees to reflect and come together.
Cllr Carol Ross, Mayor of North Lincolnshire, said: “It is a privilege to lead our community in remembering and honouring the immense contribution of our armed forces – those who serve today and those who have served."
This event highlights the community’s united effort to remember and honour the armed forces' sacrifices with a meaningful parade, ceremony, and gathering.
