The incidents, marked by shocking scenes in Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, and Darlington, followed the Southport attack where three young girls were fatally stabbed.
According to the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC), over 1,000 people were arrested during riots across the UK. Courts are now addressing those responsible for the North East disruption.
Dane Peace, 30, took part in a violent burglary spree, breaking into a NatWest bank and a vape shop in Sunderland. He was sentenced in October to two years and four months in prison.
Shay Henson, 19, from Padgate Road, Sunderland, admitted to riot and burglary. He was caught on camera wearing a balaclava, hurling objects—including a plant—at police, and stealing vapes from a looted shop. He received 32 months in a young offenders institution last month.
