Northern Michigan University’s volleyball season ended at Vandament Arena on Wednesday evening after the Wildcats were defeated in four sets in the opening-round quarterfinals of the GLIAC Tournament. Visiting Wisconsin-Parkside won 23-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-22 to advance to the tournament semifinals in Big Rapids on Saturday.
NMU finished the regular season 12-4, tying for third in the GLIAC, earning the No. 3 seed and home court for the opener. Parkside completed the season 19-8 overall and 9-7 in conference play, entering the tournament with the No. 5 seed after a three-way tie.
In the match, Parkside posted 66 kills to Northern Michigan’s 42. Although NMU committed 10 fewer attack errors, Parkside held the edge in attack percentage, .195 to .114, contributing to the Wildcats’ defeat.
