Lotus’ first PHEV for China

Launch timing and model

The first Lotus PHEV is planned to go on sale in China in Q1 2026, with a preview event expected to take place in January of the same year. The model is widely expected to be a plug-in hybrid version of the Eletre SUV, expanding Lotus’ portfolio beyond pure electric variants.

Hyper Hybrid platform and range

The upcoming plug-in hybrid will be built on Lotus’ Hyper Hybrid platform, which is designed around a high-performance hybrid powertrain. This setup is claimed to provide a combined driving range of over 1,000 km on a full tank and fully charged battery, positioning the model as a long-distance performance SUV.
