Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey has officially taken on a new role — that of a university professor. He now teaches at the University of Texas at Austin, where he offers a course titled “Script to Screen: Commercials.”
In his class, McConaughey guides students through the entire process of producing commercials, from conceptual development and scripting to the final edit. Drawing on his extensive experience in the film industry, he shares professional insights, focusing on creativity, storytelling, and authentic brand communication.
McConaughey, who earned his film degree from the same university, often credits the institution for shaping his early career. His decision to teach there marks a meaningful return, as he inspires the next generation of filmmakers.
“Teaching is about sharing the journey, not just the destination,” McConaughey has said in interviews.
