North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Paul Newby considered Monday a significant day for the state.
"This is an exciting, historic day,"
Newby said during the official rollout of e-Courts, the state's new electronic filing system, at the Iredell County Hall of Justice. Senior Resident Superior Court Judge Joe Crosswhite added,
"We're ready to start doing this."
The e-Courts system modernizes the state's court system by transitioning from paper to digital and cloud-based technologies. Iredell Clerk of Court Jim Mixson noted that the upgrades will provide the public with 24-hour remote access to court records and other applications.
