According to Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, many people are "touched by his smile" when they see a photo of St. Carlo Acutis.
During a Mass marking the first liturgical memorial of St. Carlo Acutis, Cardinal Parolin said:
“Many when they see his picture are touched by his smile: Carlo spoke of Jesus above all with his radiant, luminous, and smiling face. Paul’s exhortation: ‘Rejoice in the Lord always,’”
This Mass was celebrated on October 12 at the Mary Major Church in Assisi at the Shrine of the Renunciation.
St. Carlo Acutis was canonized by Pope Francis on October 10, 2020, and rests in a glass case on the side of the nave of the church, having died in 2006 at the age of 15.
