Phoenix experienced record-breaking weather on Saturday, with 0.7 inches of rain falling at Sky Harbor Airport, surpassing the previous record of 0.3 inches set nearly a century ago on Oct. 11.
According to Gabriel Lojero, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service,
“Most areas got anywhere between a quarter to three-quarters of an inch of rainfall with some areas — isolated areas — over an inch of rain,"he said.
The agency issued a flood watch for Phoenix, extending to Sunday night, but no heavy rainfall hit the areas of Globe and Miami, which were devastated by intense flooding last month.
