Safety upgrades are set to begin on a key Queensland freight corridor that handles up to 15,000 vehicles daily.
Planning is underway for road upgrades along the 60-kilometre Warrego Highway stretch between Toowoomba and Dalby, known for its poor crash history.
The project, part of the Targeted Road Safety Program, will include road widening, flattening road edges, new signage, line marking, hazard removal, and dedicated turn lanes at Speed Road near Oakey.
Design was completed in September, with construction starting late 2025 and continuing into 2026.
