Guidelines for Vaccination in Cardiovascular Care
Researchers have presented guidelines for vaccination against respiratory illness in individuals with cardiovascular disease.
A expert consensus statement issued by the American College of Cardiology and published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology provides current recommendations for vaccination against respiratory illness.

- Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)
- Zoster
The authors recommend annual influenza vaccination for individuals aged 6 months or older to reduce cardiovascular morbidity and mortality and all-cause death.
For patients older than 50 years, nasal vaccine is not recommended. For those aged 65 years or older, specific vaccines are recommended.
Annual influenza vaccination is recommended for individuals aged 6 months or older.
