President Dallin H. Oaks, in his first public address as President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, named President Henry B. Eyring and President D. Todd Christofferson as his counselors.
"I accept with humility the responsibility that God has placed upon me and commit my whole heart and soul to the service to which I have been called."
President Oaks made the announcement during a live broadcast from the Conference Center on Temple Square in Salt Lake City, after a period of fasting and prayer.
President Oaks also bore testimony of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
