Logan Wilson Benched by Bengals
Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson was caught off guard by the team's decision to bench him, with Barrett Carter taking his place as starting linebacker.
"Weird mentally," Wilson said. "Weird physically." "I felt like I was (playing well), but obviously Zac (Taylor) felt otherwise."
Wilson expressed confusion over the move, stating that he didn't receive a clear explanation. The reason given was that the team wanted a "spark on defense."
- Wilson had been a team captain and was expected to be one of the defense's best players in 2025.
- He had not been making splash plays.
- His performance had been "perfectly fine" prior to being benched.
"I don’t know exactly what (spark) means," Wilson said. "When I asked if there was anything I could do to improve and be better, I wasn’t really given a great reason."
Author's summary: Bengals bench team captain Logan Wilson.
