David and Tanya Idzan won $254,540 at the Edmonton Oilers' playoff game after buying $80 worth of 50/50 raffle tickets.
Despite the team's overtime loss to the San Jose Sharks, the couple left with big smiles on their faces, taking home $254,640 ($336,995 Canadian).
"We buy $40 worth of raffles every game," said David Idzan. "We bought $80 last night."
The prize is one of the biggest 50/50 prizes in sports history, with 50% of the pot going to the winner and 50% to the team's charity.
