Virtual Cancer Screening Clinic Expands to Vancouver Island
CanScreen, a virtual cancer-screening clinic, has expanded its services to all of Vancouver Island.
The clinic, which was started in 2023 by two doctors in Victoria, aims to provide cancer screening services to patients who do not have a family doctor.
To access the service, patients can visit www.canscreenbc.com to book a test. The results are then reviewed by Dr. Stuart Bax, who contacts the patient to discuss the findings.
The reason for starting the virtual clinic was to address the challenges of booking screenings without a family doctor.
If necessary, a follow-up appointment is scheduled with a clinician in Port Alberni, Comox, or Nanaimo.
