A joint document on the Gaza ceasefire deal was signed by Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, and the United States in Egypt on Monday.
Despite neither Israel nor Hamas attending the signing, the ceasefire has led to the first major aid convoy entering Gaza on Sunday and a large-scale hostage-prisoner exchange on Monday.
These developments bring temporary relief to the war-torn enclave, which has suffered nearly 68,000 Palestinian deaths, infrastructure destruction, and widespread famine over two years of Israeli military operations.
However, experts remain skeptical about the ceasefire leading to lasting peace, citing Israel's internal political divisions, the massive task of rebuilding Gaza, and uncertainty over who will govern the territory after the fighting stops.
No durable peace can be achieved without addressing these underlying issues.
Gaza ceasefire deal brings hope, but lasting peace remains uncertain.
