Canadian Men's Soccer Team Holds Colombia to Scoreless Draw

Canada's 26th-ranked men's soccer team gave a strong effort to hold 13th-ranked Colombia to a scoreless draw in an international friendly.

The team, led by midfielder Stephen Eustaquio and winger Tajon Buchanan, proved to be a handful for the South Americans, with Canada coach Jesse Marsch noting that the team could have performed even better.

"I think it was a good performance, not a great performance … I felt like most of the game we were in fourth or fifth gear and we could have really pushed ourselves into sixth gear,"

Marsch added,

"We are the type of team that can play in these games, be better in these games and win these games."

Scoring chances were scarce for both teams until the final minutes, when Canada fended off a late charge from Colombia to secure the draw.

Author's summary: Canada holds Colombia to a scoreless draw in soccer friendly.
