Chesapeake Library Situation Still Under Assessment
The Chesapeake branch of the Briggs Lawrence County Public Library remains closed indefinitely, pending a thorough assessment of its condition.
According to Gretchen Claypool, director of the library system, the building, located at 11054 County Rd. 1, has issues with its roof and foundation.
Work is being done to install temporary shoring in the building
Once the temporary shoring is installed, a proper assessment of the building can be conducted, and library materials can be transported to a temporary site.
