A five-week strike by full-time support staff at Ontario colleges has come to an end after a tentative agreement was reached.
The agreement was made possible by a private mediation session led by Mediator William Kaplan, resolving the impasse between the College Employer Council (CEC) and the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU).
“Support staff play an important role in our colleges,” says Graham Lloyd, CEO of the CEC. “We are grateful to have them back to work.”
Picketing at Ontario colleges will end immediately as part of the agreement with OPSEU.
