The McMillan Arts Centre is featuring three new exhibitions this October. The exhibitions, including "Catching Glimmers" by Sarah Boileau, "And There It Is..." by Patricia Carroll, and "The Crow Show" by Cathy Stewart, will be on display until October 26.
Nanaimo artist Sarah Boileau has created a series of oil paintings that capture the beauty of Vancouver Island, inspired by her emotional connection to the island's landscapes. She spends her time exploring forests and beaches, photographing natural landscapes to use as reference material for her paintings.
Glimmers are when we experience tiny moments of joy during fleeting everyday events.
Boileau's favourite time of year to find inspiration is from October to March, when the light during the transitional seasons has a special quality that she finds enchanting.
The exhibitions will be on display at the McMillan Arts Centre until October 26.
