September 2025 brought a striking mix of extremes to Spain, with intense storms drenching the Mediterranean coast, yet still being one of the warmest Septembers in over six decades.
Record Temperatures Across the South
According to Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), the average temperature across mainland Spain in September was 19.7°C, around 0.6°C higher than the 1991–2020 average.
This makes it the 23rd warmest September since records began in 1961, and the tenth warmest of the 21st century.
