Facebook Marketplace Theft
Brant OPP have issued a public warning after a Facebook Marketplace deal turned into a theft in Paris.
A resident of Flagg Avenue, listed a green iPhone 15 for sale on the marketplace feature of the social media app for $650.
- A buyer, with the profile name of Kirtoura Jones, agreed to buy the phone.
- The buyer arrived from Kitchener at about 6:30 p.m.
- A white compact vehicle pulled into the driveway, briefly interacted with the man and then reversed out, heading west on Flagg Avenue.
- The suspect ran off in the same direction with the iPhone.
The suspect is described as being Black, about six feet tall, with a slim build and black curly hair.
The Facebook profile photo matches the suspect who took the phone.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
