Police Raid Colonie Hotel in Search for McDonald's Robbery Suspect
Colonie Police and Saratoga County Sheriff's Deputies raided the Econo Lodge Inn Suites in Colonie on Saturday night as part of the search for Joseph Hess.
Joseph Hess, 32, of Frankfurt, NY, is accused of robbing a 76-year-old woman at the McDonald's parking lot in Ballston on Thursday. During the robbery, he allegedly stole the woman's pocketbook and ran over her with his car, causing compound leg fractures.
- The woman was transported to the hospital for treatment.
- Police were seen breaking a window at the Econo Lodge during the raid.
- SWAT team members were heard calling out Hess's name over a loudspeaker, instructing him to come out with his hands up.
