Public Comment on Island Marble Butterfly Endangered Status
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is accepting public comments on a proposal to classify the island marble butterfly as endangered in Washington.
The public comment period is open until December 22, 2025.
“There is only one remaining population of island marble in Washington, on San Juan Island,” said Taylor Cotten, WDFW conservation assessment section manager.
