Warriors' Draymond Green Reportedly Shut Down Trade Talks
The Golden State Warriors champion had his reasons for not wanting the team to make the trade for Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen, valued at $195 million.
Markkanen, a 7-feet tall player who can stretch the floor, seemed like an ideal target for the Warriors. However, according to ESPN's Anthony Slater, Draymond Green played a role in shutting down the trade talks.
Green told Mike Dunleavy and Joe Lacob not to trade for Markkanen due to the cost of the trade.
The Warriors' inability to have a stretch big has been an issue over the past few seasons, but Green's intervention prevented a deal from happening.
Author's summary: Draymond Green stopped the Warriors from trading for Lauri Markkanen.
