Forever Canadian Petition
A petition rumoured to have collected over 300,000 pro-Canada signatures is nearing its goal.
Former Progressive Conservative cabinet minister Thomas Lukaszuk is on the final stretch of his "Unity Bus" tour to collect signatures for the Forever Canadian petition, which asks:
Do you agree that Alberta should remain in Canada?
The petition requires 293,976 in-person signatures to be approved and sent to an MLA committee for consideration of a province-wide referendum.
With over 4,000 volunteers, the pro-Canada campaign is reportedly close to reaching its goal, with rumours of over 300,000 signatures collected.
