Holiday Tours at Hartwood Acres Canceled
Holiday tours of the mansion at Hartwood Acres have been canceled due to the ongoing Pennsylvania budget impasse, according to Allegheny County spokeswoman Abigail Gardner.
The cancellation is a result of a spending freeze, as the county faces a $100 million shortfall caused by the state's lack of a budget since June 30.
“It has real impacts,”
Gardner stated, highlighting the effects of the budget impasse. The county has implemented hiring and spending freezes, and departments have been asked to reduce discretionary spending, with further cuts expected.
