Vice President Opoku-Agyemang Mourns Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings
Opoku-Agyemang said the late former First Lady’s remarkable contributions to Ghana’s social and political landscape will always be remembered.
“We mourn the passing of our former First Lady, H.E. She was a true icon and will be remembered for her service to Ghana,”
she stated. The Vice President extended her condolences to the Rawlings family, especially Nana Konadu’s children, and wished them strength during this difficult time.
“My deepest condolences go to her children and family. I wish her peaceful rest,”
she added. Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, founder of the 31st December Women’s Movement and a champion of women’s empowerment, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Ridge Hospital in Accra after a brief illness.
