Landmark New Report Shows Canadian Lobbyists Represent Major Polluters Alongside Environmental Groups

Canadian Lobbyists Represent Both Polluters and Environmental Groups

A recent report by FMinus reveals a conflict of interest in Canada's climate action, where lobbyists represent both major polluters and environmental organizations.

Major Canadian environmental organizations and civil society groups are using lobbyists who also represent big polluters, according to the report published by FMinus, an American accountability monitor.

“As the climate crisis gets worse for Canadians, there’s a hidden cause,”

said James Browning, founder and executive director of FMinus, in an interview with DeSmog.

The report was prepared in conjunction with Environmental Defence and re•generation, a youth climate advocacy organization.

Author's summary: Lobbyists in Canada represent both polluters and environmental groups, hindering climate action.
