Michael Clark Murder Defense Seeks to Link Case to JonBenét Investigation 'Mistakes'
Michael Clark, facing a retrial for a 1994 murder, seeks documents that link his case with the infamous 1996 JonBenét Ramsey investigation.
In new legal filings, Clark's defense team claims that alleged Boulder police missteps in his case are similar to those in the JonBenét Ramsey case.
- Clark was convicted in 2012 for the murder of Marty Grisham, a crime he has maintained he did not commit for over 30 years.
- The case went unsolved for 17 years before being resurrected based on DNA analysis and testimony from forensic scientist Yvonne Woods, whose credibility has since been disputed.
Clark's defense team has issued 12 subpoenas to Boulder authorities seeking documents and information connected to his case ahead of his scheduled 2026 retrial.
Clark has said for more than 30 years he did not commit the crime.
