International Students' Scholarship Contracts to be Tightened
Following the recent scandal at ELTE, thousands of international students in Hungary may face tightened scholarship contracts.
A lecture by Alexander Yakobson, a historian from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, was disrupted on 16 October, prompting two ministers and the university rector to demand accountability.
“Diverzitás és demokrácia az izraeli társadalomban”
The lecture series, still available on ELTE's website, was cut short due to the disturbance, with only two of the three sessions attended online.
The incident began when students wearing keffiyehs shouted that the lecture was political propaganda supporting Israeli genocide, causing the university's security to fail in restoring order.
