A cloudy and chilly pattern has taken over the region, with a mix of rain and mountain snow expected to arrive late this evening and linger overnight.
This wet mix will impact the morning commute from Lava Butte south to La Pine, as well as Sisters, making roads slick.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in place for portions of Deschutes and Jefferson Counties until 1 pm Monday.
The snow level is expected to be around 4500 – 5000 feet, impacting the mountain passes, including Santiam Pass and the road to Mt. Bachelor, Century Drive, close to the resort.
The snow will be able to accumulate on grassy areas, and a snow/slush mix is likely on the highest points of the passes.
A Local Alert Weather Day has been issued for Monday to highlight the potential for inconvenient weather.
